Saving/Restoring/Clearing Programs On A Rain Bird ESP-ME Irrigation Controller
Thanks so mich for this video. Very helpful. I do have a question though - when i turned the outdoor valve on, I started losing water pressure inside (sinks, toilets, etc.). Would that indicate a break somewhere in the irrigation line? Internal water works fine when external isn’t on. Thanks again!
Hello, it could be or just the irrigation lines filling taking a majority of the water. Hopefully after the irrigation lines are pressurized you regain pressure inside.
@@SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems How long would you reckon that would take for the irrigation to pressurize, if you don’t mind me asking
Thank you very much for posting such a good video. Clear, short and to the point.
Thank you for watching!
do you do trouble shooting?? I know how to program my Hardie Rain Dail. The trouble I am having is I get things set, I set to run or manual and push semi-auto. Then the clock starts blinking. The sprinklers won't start automatically according to the time and day they are set. It has a fresh battery and is also plugged into a power outlet. It was working just a few weeks ago and now it's not.
Hello, put the controller in the run position and the dial on current time, no need to hit the semi auto button. The clock will start with the start times programmed and run the times on the zones. The clock should not be blinking. Hope this helps!
THANK YOU.
Thank you for watching!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing!

Clear and simple instructions to follow thank you very much. Help me out a ton!

Excellent video! Thank you so much!
How do you know if there’s a rain sensor installed?
Hello, it would be connected in the 2 sensor terminals in the controller.
the best tutorial I've seen yet...makes it simple. thanks
Thanks for watching!
We still have this one! Made in 1995. I followed the directions on the card insert and on step 4, when it says to set Today at day 1,2,3 etc (ex. Tuesday is 3) the rocker won’t work. But everything else works. Do I need this to set the auto setting? Or is this a malfunction? We might just try manual.
Hello, we are unable to make ours to do the same thing, it must be a malfunctioning controller.
@@SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems oh thank you for replying! Good to know!
How do I and or remove zones
How do I move time clock from am to pm?
Hello, when your setting the time continue to push the up arrow and it will change between the two. Hope this helps!
The water is on from water tank inside I went out and they went off when I set timer.. but one zone goes for a while then it quit and the next area went. But I have them all set for the same time.. so I went and turned it off at the panel. But now I l9om back yard is still going.. was turning the knobs 1/4 turn on wrong? Will it turn on without doing that?
I would recommend contacting a professional irrigation contractor and schedule a service call.
Awesome video. Certainly saved me some cash in having someone come out to look at this.
Thank you for watching!
Awesome
This was a great tutorial!

Short & wet. ! Just what I needed...lol
I watch this every year, but this crooked company closed our sprinklers last year from the outside area in ground, and now when I tried to open the sprinklers they came on automatically and the electric component was not plugged up at all. I can’t turn them off so now I’m forced to call them and pay for them to open the sprinklers.
Hello, maybe try another contractor, there are a lot of really great, hardworking companies out there.
Thank you for the tutorial.
You are welcome!
Thank you so much for this video! My step-dad passed away this fall, and this was one of the things he used to do. I felt so silly that I couldn't figure out how to turn the water on!
Thank you for watching!
wher the master valve location?
Hello, typically very close to the water source! Hope this helps
Mine doesn’t work anymore, i set the timer for 6am but I’ve checked multiple times, it doesn’t sprinkle the garden.
Hello, I would verify the water is on before installing a new controller.
Thanks for sharing this clear video. I know it is a simple process but it is nice to have a refresher every year!
Thank you for watching!
Better than the manufacturer’s video
analog, baby! yes...straight outta' the 90's!!! i actually have a neighbor with this controller, and it is still plugging along after all of these years. i was able to watch this video and go over and get their system time and schedule up and running for them after an extended power outage. thank you for your videos!
Thank you for watching!
This clock is 1000 times easier to work on the phone… that’s its MAIN selling point. Simple…. 🤔
Yeah, thanks for watching!
How do you stop the bottom peacock from leaking?
Grab a regular screwdriver and turn left or right until the water stops leaking, hope this helps
Man, I installed the same bonnet and popper, had a spare, but this time, it kept leaking. I closed the underground valve off as you showed, then turned it on, and it sealed right away. Unfortunately for me, it revealed another issue down in the control box area, but it is no longer leaking under the bell hood. Thank you sir!
Thank you for watching!
Great video for us DIY'ers to refer to every spring! Thanks for clearly explaining the process. I agree with another commenter, DON'T EVER TAKE THE VIDEO DOWN! 😅

Thank uou
This is missing locking off the control valve box. I always forget that one. optional for some but you will have running water if you opened it for the winter
When I go down into the basement and turn the water on and then go back outside, the levers are so pressured they won’t turn at all… and then I go back down in the basement turn the water off come back outside, and then I can move the levers up and down easily, I’ve been trying to fix this all day. I’m so aggravated.
This video works for me every year. Several others are confusing. Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Thanks a lot!
This is the absolute best video on how to do this. You don’t have to hire a company to turn your system on because this video covers everything to a T. Excellent video, thank you!

Is it normal for a little water to pop out of the vacuum breaker in Step 3?
Yeah as the poppet and bonnet seal, thank you for watching!
@@SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems Oh good! There was a loud pop that scared me too…
I just used it for the 6th or 7th year in a row. Totally awesome!
Thank you for watching!
using that tool, you will damage the surface....!
I'm confused. Im taking over a system the prevoius owner had set up the 8 zones to run twice in a 24 hour period and do this 7 days a week. He had programs A and B but i cant seem to figure that out and reprogram as such. I guess ill go back and rewatch the video a bunch of times and hopefully it will sink i to my thick old skull.
This video helped when others didn’t. Thanks!
Changing Stations from 1-8 to 9-16 no longer works, any tips on how to fix this?
These controllers are known for that, typically it is best to budget for a replacement.
This was so helpful. Thanks it used to take me several hours to figure this out and get my sprinkler working. But you video made it so easy, spent 2 minutes
Thanks for watching!
Why did you turn one of the screws clockwise and the other counterclockwise?
Hello, you can go either way, they are like ball valves and can go clockwise or counter clockwise. Hope this helps!
@@SchepersLawnSprinklingSystems I figured that out eventually 🙂 Thanks!
